They say ‘great things come in small packages’ which is certainly true for this little country that sits in the southwest of Great Britain. It reminds us so much of New Zealand with its rugged coast lines, National Parks, awesome hikes and laid back vibes. But it also has so much history, a strong culture and a great nightlife.
Depending on your departure point, you can get to Wales by road, rail or air. With lots of great international links to Cardiff it is easy for anyone to visit from outside the UK. Its only 2/3hrs from London by train!
To get around and fully experience Wales, it would be best to hire a car, this way you can take it at your own pace and explore. But if this is not an option for you, check out National Express bus passes or an Explore Wales Pass (https://www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk/ExploreWales/).
Where to go
Snowdonia National Park
Home to the largest mountain in Wales, Snowdonia is an awesome place to go hiking. It also has adventures like the world’s longest zip line, Bounce Below (underground trampolines in caves) and white water rafting. Check out our adventure weekend in Wales for some inspiration!
