Don’t you just love playing a game of scrabble? Making up crazy words that no one has heard of, trying to get away with it while your partner runs for the dictionary to call you out. Well – we sure do! And after a lot of scrabble fight inspiration, we decided to get a little creative with some wall art!
DIY Scrabble Wall Art | You will need:
Firstly, you will need to purchase wooden scrabble pieces (eBay is very reasonable)
Decide what word design you are going for and lay out the pieces
Pick a deep set photo frame which will fit your design (Ikea do some great ones from £2.50)
If the backing board of the frame is not strong enough to hold your tiles, purchase some thick card and trim it to fit the frame
Place your tiles one by one on the card and draw a faint pencil mark so you know their final positions
Start by using hot glue or superglue to stick the tiles into position
If your design allows use a ruler to ensure you get a straight line for each word
You can even use craft buttons, sequins, ribbons etc to decorate (buttons, wooden flowers & ladybirds used in above picture)
To finish, leave to dry, pop it into the frame and get ready to HANG IT!
Its that simple. Enjoy!
