When our time in Cambodia was coming to an end, we made our way to The Tea House, an urban hotel, for a little R&R. The following few days were spent relaxing in the spa, sipping cocktails by the pool and, of course, indulging in many fine teas. If you are looking for a little luxury or an escape from the busyness of city life then here is an insight to where you can find that perfect escape!
Although in the heart of the city, The Tea House feels a world away from that reality! With its modern Chinese design you are immediately drawn away from city life and into an oasis. Greeted with complimentary fresh fruit drinks and exemplary service we instantly fell in love with the place.
Rooms are equipped with all the necessary features – complimentary drinks, a mini bar, TV, WiFi, toiletries and not to mention the comfiest bed we have slept in whilst visiting Cambodia! The rooms are extraordinarily clean and in keeping with the modern Chinese design found throughout the hotel.
If you are wanting to make your stay that bit little more special, the following services are available. Enjoy a ride in their classic Jaguar, have a babysitter for a romantic night out or request a flower arrangement to be made. The WiFi service is extremely fast, by far the finest we’ve used in South East Asia. Other services include a spa, airport transfers, laundry and tour bookings to name just a few.
*We personally recommend getting a full body massage – just WOW!
The Tea House provides a zen like atmosphere, one that you wont want to leave. Food is reasonably priced and delicious, particularly the tea themed dishes. The tea garden has a tranquil feel about it – surrounded by flowers, lanterns and a goldfish pond it’s a lovely place to relax. The souvenir shop sells authentic Cambodian made products which make for perfectly unique gifts. The swimming pool, surrounded with fruiting trees and flowers provides a welcomed escape from the chaotic city of Phnom Penh. You don’t go on holiday to stay in, however, The Tea House certainly tempts you to do so.
If you can bring yourself to leave the hotel, Phnom Penhs main attractions are right at your fingertips. The Royal Palace, the National Museum, Killing Fields and S21 are just a short tuk tuk ride away. A price guide can be found at reception detailing the maximum tuk tuk cost for all popular destinations. Little aspects like this make your stay here all the more relaxing.
COST: Rooms start from $33 USD per night
A very large thank you to MAADS for arranging our stay and a special thanks to The Tea House for hosting our visit! It was a lovely little end to our time in Cambodia. As always all opinions are our own!
